Asymptote verticale d’une courbe

Expression
asymptote verticale, asymptotes verticales

Définition

Définition Limite vers plus l’infini

Soient \(a\in \overline{\mathbb{R}}\) et \(f\) une fonction définie au voisinage de \(a\). Une fonction \(f\) tend vers \(+\infty\) en \(a\) si on a :

\[\text{pour }a\in\mathbb{R},\qquad \forall A\in\mathbb{R},\ \exists h>0\ /\ \forall x\in I,\ |x-a|\le h\Rightarrow f(x)\ge A\]

Graphiquement, la courbe de \(f\) admet une asymptote verticale d’équation \(x=a\).

\[\text{pour }a=+\infty,\qquad \forall A\in\mathbb{R},\ \exists B\in\mathbb{R}\ /\ \forall x\in I,\ x\ge B\Rightarrow f(x)\ge A\]
\[\text{pour }a=-\infty,\qquad \forall A\in\mathbb{R},\ \exists B\in\mathbb{R}\ /\ \forall x\in I,\ x\le B\Rightarrow f(x)\ge A\]

Notation Notations d’une limite vers plus l’infini

\[\lim_{a}f=+\infty\qquad\text{ou}\qquad\lim_{x\to a}f(x)=+\infty\qquad\text{ou}\qquad f(x)\underset{x\to a}{\longrightarrow}+\infty\]
